When Lissa and Rose first return to St.Vladimir’s Mia is openly hostile towards them. Mia is dating Aaron, Lissa’s ex and she is beyond jealous at the attention Lissa receives when she comes back. Mia is also behind the rumors about Rose sleeping with Jesse and Ralf and at the school dance the pair argue and Mia ends up with a broken nose. Her personality changes dramatically in Frostbite when her mother is killed in the Strigoi attack on the Drozdov family. Mia wants revenge and its angry that the guardians seem to be doing nothing about it, she falls in with Mason and Eddie and agree’s that Moroi and Dhampir’s should work together and take action. When she, Mason, Rose, Eddie and Christian escape the Strigoi, Mia bravely comes back and helps Rose using her water element. After Frostbite she and Rose become all most friends – they both have an unspoken respect for each other and Mia vows to learn more about offensive magic.
