News has just emerged that Vampire Academy Graphic Novel creator, Emma Vieceli has given access to a small snippet of the illustrative novel that is to debut this summer.
Vampire Academy Exclusive Preview//
The pictures shown is the illustrations from the first chapter of Vampire Academy. They look awesome!
The release of the graphic novel is hopefully to reach a new audience as well for those who have already fallen in love with the book series, which could be a good thing to build up to the pending release of the debut film.
Emma Vieceli explains that she wasn’t “familiar with the books” but like any VA fans will know once you read them you are hooked. She states: “I ate through the entire series and, like many, found myself wandering aimlessly about the house after Last Sacrifice, not knowing what to do with myself now that it was over.” Hell I know how she feels. It’s a pain waiting for the spin off.
The one big question Emma brings to light is what every single fan wants but has their own opinion is: Will the pictures look like the characters as we imagine them to be?
“I knew very well that every reader would have a clear vision of the characters, and that everyone’s vision would be slightly different,” Vieceli says. “Dimitri was especially tricky. He’s everyone’s perfect man, right? But every woman has a different idea of exactly what a perfect man is!” Emma continues.
The good thing is that Richelle is pleased with the pictures turning out how they have! But will the fans think differently?
“Nothing is ever going to be an exact photograph of what’s in my head, but as far as someone else being able to capture them, it’s come about as close as it can be through someone else’s eyes,” Mead explains. “There’s a fair amount of stylization, which is Emma’s own slant on it, and I’m totally fine with that. I’m glad it’s not an exact mind-dump of me. I really like seeing someone who loves the series the way she interprets it.”
Fans will be even more excited to hear that Emma Vieceli is currently sketching her way through graphic novel number two – Frostbite. It is hoped to be out next year. Emma is also currently doing various projects such as ‘The Avalon Chronicles’, the digital series ‘The Thrill Electric’ and her very own series titled ‘Dragon Heir’. Sound familiar to any VA fans?
Vampire Academy Graphic Novel is due in Stores August the same week as Richelle Mead’s baby is due.
So from the pictures, What do you VA fans think of them? Please leave your comments!!
